Kevin Spears

Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Spears received his B.S. in education from Arkansas State University and his B.S. in occupational therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He is currently studying to receive his master's degree in business administration from Harding University. He has served in the role of  director of therapy since 2005 gaining experience in inpatient and outpatient care, acute care and home health. He served as the director of therapy at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital North since 2010 and additionally assumed the role of regional director of therapy operations over the last two years. Kevin's focus for patient care is good clinical outcomes.
Dr Jonathan Ellen

Jonathan Ellen, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Ellen became the stroke program director for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital-North and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis in 2011. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1990 at the Schwab Rehabilitation Center in Chicago. From there, he joined Western Health Services in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he later became the director of spinal cord medicine at the Weldon Center for Rehabilitation in 1991. In 1995 Dr. Ellen came to Memphis to assume the role of medical director at the Dozier Rehabilitation Center at St. Francis Hospital. He also became a member of the staff at Select Specialty Hospital of Memphis in 1998 and served as medical advisor for both neuro-rehabilitation and wound care. Dr. Ellen’s experience spans a broad spectrum of rehabilitation clients ranging from multiple orthopedic injuries to major burn injuries. He has a long-standing interest in traumatic brain injury and neuro-pharmacology and continues to be intrigued by the process of brain recovery.

Jonathan Ellen, M.D. is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Dr Reginald Andrews

Reginald Andrews, D.P.

Memphis Area Director of Pharmacy

Dr. Andrews serves as the director of pharmacy for both Memphis hospitals, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis-North. He attended Tennseess State University for undergraduate training and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis where he received his doctorate of pharmacy in 2001. Beginning his career as an intern at a local pharmacy, he later became managing pharmacist and continued on to hospital practice a few years later. Dr. Andrews' practice experience includes retail pharmacy, neonatal intensive care at the Regional One Medical Center, pediatric oncology with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and general hospital practice with Baptist Memorial Healthcare, all in Memphis. Tenn. He became director of pharmacy at HealthSouth in 2007.
Annette Echols Malone

Annette Echols Malone

Director of Health Information Management

Annette holds a bachelor’s degree in health information management from the University of Tennessee – Memphis and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. Annette has 19 years experience in the health information management field and is a Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA).
Jennifer Ferrell

Jennifer Ferrell

Chief Nursing Officer

Jennifer holds a nursing degree from Saint Joseph Hospital of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She has more than 11 years of experience in healthcare nursing leadership. Jennifer brings to HealthSouth a broad range of knowledge in an acute care setting which includes intensive care unit and medical surgery. Jennifer joined HealthSouth in June 2012.
Eric Gray

Eric Gray

CFO/Controller

Eric graduated from University of Missouri –St. Louis in 2009 with his bachelor’s degree in accounting. He arrived at HealthSouth in 2010, and has been part of the team ever since; being promoted to accountant in 2011 and controller/CFO in the spring of 2013.
Cindi Hutchinson

Cindi Hutchinson

Director of Quality/Risk Management

Cindi serves HealthSouth as the director of quality and risk management. She joined HealthSouth with over 37 years  in the nursing field and over 20 years in healthcare leadership. Cindi graduated from the State University of New York with an associate degree in nursing. Prior to joining the HealthSouth team, she worked in pediatrics, neurology, pulmonary, oncology and infectious disease. Cindi has been a part of the HealthSouth team for over 14 years.
Sandra Milburn

Sandra Milburn

Human Resources Director

Sandra has over 25 years of experience in healthcare and human resources. She began her career at Methodist University where she worked for 10 years and has been a part of the HealthSouth team every since. She graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in management. Sandra is an advisory board member with  local nursing schools and a member of the West Tennessee Human Resource Society.
Michael Nolan

Michael Nolan

Director of Plant Operations

Michael has been in various executive level operations leadership roles in the healthcare setting for over five years. He holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Memphis and is currently pursuing his MBA. He is active in the Shelby Regional Hospital Disaster Planning Council and is also a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineers.
Elizabeth Robertson

Elizabeth Robertson

Area Director of Marketing

Elizabeth serves as the area director of marketing operations for the Memphis area. She oversees and manages the inpatient admissions liaisons and rehabilitation marketing liaisons for both HealthSouth Rebailitation Hospitals Central (80 bed facility) and North (50 bed facility). Elizabeth brings 15 years of sales and marketing experience to this position with ten of those years having a specific focus in the senior living and healthcare industry. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Saint Mary of the Woods College in Indiana.
Leigh Savage

Leigh Savage

Director of Case Management

Leigh holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee. She started her career in social work at Methodist University Hospital’s rehabilitation unit before transitioning to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis in 1994. She was promoted to director of case management in 2002 and also serves as the regional director of case management for HealthSouth’s central region of hospitals.
Toni Wackerfuss

Toni Wackerfuss

Director of Therapy Operations

Toni graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and began her clinical career at HealthSouth immediately following graduation. She worked as a staff therapist and team lead until she was promoted to director of therapy operations in 1998. Toni received her certification in the treatment of adults with hemiplegia through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association in 1997.
